Versions of Her
Styled by Jennifer Su
Meet Jennifer Su (@itsjennifersu) — a stylist with over a decade of experience in fashion, both in Sydney and abroad. Jennifer has a remarkable ability to layer and mix garments in ways that feel effortless yet intentional — blending relaxed undergarments with structured coats, or pairing skirts with unexpected textures. Her use of color brings each look to life, while her style remains rooted in an eclectic minimalism, often anchored by one standout piece. I had the pleasure of working with her on this shoot, which explores the many faces of femininity — from the boyish to the avant-garde.
Meet the rest of team:
Models: Keira Knezevic & Akira Isola
Make-up Artist: Helianni
Hair: Gem Woods
Videographer: Mark Laygan
The first look styled by Jennifer featured a red-and-white floral bandana paired with a brown blazer and blue denim shorts — a playful yet composed mix. The ensemble was finished with classic white socks and leopard-print heels, a combination that effortlessly balanced ease and elegance. The look channels a boyish, school-inspired charm, reimagined through a lens of confident femininity. The bandana lends a sense of readiness and purpose, while the sock-and-heel pairing captures that perfect tension between relaxed nonchalance and business-ready poise.
The next look took on a freer, more expressive tone — Akira wore a crisp white top paired with black leather pants and matching heels, layered with a vibrant red tassel skirt that added movement and flair. The makeup echoed the outfit’s red and orange accents, while her hair, neatly pulled back, kept the focus on the interplay of textures and color. The contrast between the structured top and the playful, tasselled bottom created a dynamic balance — business on top, unapologetically quirky below.
“A reinterpretation of the stay-at-home woman — one who isn’t waiting for her partner, but for something, or someone, that matches her own energy. The look captures a balance between composure and intrigue: clean lines softened by unexpected details, embodying a quiet confidence that feels both intimate and self-assured.”
A stark contrast to her first look, Keira wore a matching bralette and shorts layered beneath a sheer mesh dress and finished with a blazer — a blend of sensuality and structure. What might have been a classic, flowy ensemble took on a grungier edge when set against a graffiti-covered fire escape, transforming the look into a statement of bold, urban femininity.
Dubbed the editorial queen by her colleagues, Akira brought striking poses that played with proportion — elongating and contracting her form to complement the outfit’s lines. This Vogue-inspired look transformed a seemingly ordinary pairing into something artful and playful, capturing the essence of high fashion through movement and attitude.
And lastly, one of the standout looks — and a personal favorite inspired by Jennifer’s social media — featured the braided-hair necktie. Jennifer styled Keira in a crisp button-up shirt, leather bomber jacket, black shorts, and heels, with hair and makeup perfectly matching the outfit’s mood: sexy with attitude.
This look encapsulates Jennifer’s versatility and her instinctive ability to mix and match textures to create atmosphere. Her styling thrives on duality — balancing strength with sensuality, polish with edge — making every ensemble she envisions worthy of an editorial spread.
