Layers of Color: Shooting with Bhavninder Sanghera
I first met Bhavninder Sanghera in 2023 during Australian Fashion Week. Amid the chaos of runway shows and street style, his look stood out immediately. What caught my eye was his unapologetic use of color and his effortless layering of textures—an approach that felt bold, personal, and unafraid.
After following him on social media, I discovered there was more to his style than surface. Bhavninder often shared his story: once a shy kid, he found his voice and confidence through fashion. Clothing became not just an outfit, but a language of self-expression. Watching his evolution has been a reminder of how style can transform identity and presence.
Fast forward to 2025, and Bhavninder is preparing for his next chapter—moving to Dubai to pursue fashion on a global scale. Before he leaves, I knew I had to capture his essence in the studio. So we took to Siren Studios, a space that gave me the freedom to play with color, lighting, and set design to complement his vision.
Over three hours, with three outfits and four different looks/backgrounds, we created a visual conversation. Bhavninder came prepared, delivering three distinctive looks that carried his signature flair for color and texture. To balance and highlight his style, I used vintage props and color-saturated backdrops. Together, they gave form to his timeless yet forward-looking approach to fashion.
The result was a collaboration that celebrated not just his clothes, but his story—an artist on the verge of a new chapter, still unapologetically himself, and more vibrant than ever.
